Camp site wanted on West Somerset Railway

Could anyone help with a camper van site which adjoins the West Somerset Railway. I found a Hoburne site at Blue Anchor but it does not take dogs and my wife has 2 small ones ( the dogs that is ). I'm not bothered about facilities as we take it as we find it but my little boy is mad about trains ( infected by me ) and trains going past the old Bedford van would be a great memory for us.

Don't know much about the area my friend but we managed to get a couple of nights down that way near the Tor at Glastonbury (we were warned the next day that the warden would be round and would charge us tho)
the other places we went were all off the road and almost into Devon exmoor area. we had no probs there at all
we even had 2 nights in Weston but there was an event (motorbikes my other love) on the beach and several of us camped up in the car parks in town and nobody said anything.
sorry cant help you more

If only you had posted this last week. I've just come back from Dunster (not in the CF). The only one I can think of is the site at Blue Anchor. Are you sure about the dogs? I'm sure I've seen some there. I did see another site from the train but I can't remember where. I think it was on the outskirts of Watchet but I can't be sure. It looked a very basic site but right on the side of the line. If you don't mind being a few minutes away from the line you could wild park in the Dunster beach car park. I've done it many times. As long as you pay and display they are pretty easy going. There's a CC site at Alcombe, just outside Minehead and a private site on the road leading out from Minehead towards Porlock.

Thanks Colin - I think there is another site at Blue Anchor and that might be the one you spotted but I don't know the name - the Hoburne site does not take dogs and is a bit too upmarket for us and they say no dogs anyway. Still you have given us some good options so thanks again.
