Hello to you all

Hello

I was offered a CF motorhome the other weekend and this weekend i've spent doing all the work that i think is needed for it to pass an MOT tomorrow morning. (fingers crossed)
It had been in the guys back garden for the last three years and its been a back braking long weekend. With sticking brake cylinders a stuck clutch and a full replacement of all the rear lights. But those items are now hopefully behind me and with its new set of tyres its now sitting happily on his front drive awaiting the dreaded test.

YES! YES! and YES!!!

Yippee......

Its passed the MOT with only one advisory. vertical play in the rear right leaf spring bush. SOOOoooo Pleased. There is one problem that I will need to sort out now though, well two...
1st i made a BIG mistake in not flushing out the fuel tank. chucked in a couple of gallons into an almost empty tank as the guy said he'd only emptied it a little while ago. I had left instructions with the guy who took it to the MOT to fill it almost up before the test, but didnt. He said he was running late and it looked like it had more than enough to get there. He also said it ran like a dream till it was bounced up and down on and off the rolling road and then it started to miss a beat It was then on the way home that it cut out! and after waiting 1 1/2 hours for the AA guy it started without a problem, so he asked the AA guy to follow him to the petrol station and then filled it to over half way. since then its only missed a beat slightly. So the first thing i'll do will be to fit an in-line filter and then drain and flush the tank.

the next thing i need to then do is sort out a good place for the Insurance so I'm able to then take it home. So any recommendations? as the company's i've tried so far ether dont do 'Motorhomes' or say its not on there system so cant give me a quote. The only company so far to give me a quote is FootmanJames who also do one of my cars. As i'm not a 'full' member (yet!) i cant access the insurance area. so any assistance would be great. I cant wait to get in it a take it for a drive :-D

cheers

welcome

I use RH specialist cars division for both my Bedfords. Very cheap cover and includes breakdown, but is not specific camper van cover - still fine for my needs.
