on the starter motor you will find 1 thick black cable which is the feed and a thin cable with spade connector on it.

with Beddy in neutral try joining the spade terminal on the starter to the feed with a piece of short cable , if starter turns then you have a dirty joint or broken wire .. a good tip is to use a jump lead from the engine metal to the negative terminal on the battery , eliminates bad earth.

Hi guy I had this problem mines diesel so hope yours is the same. Mine had a really bad earth strap between chassis and battery negative. I got a really thick piece of cable from an electrical shop the higher amp rating the better. Undo one of the top starter bolts and replace with a longer bolt do it back up as normal then on the extra bit fit cable and another nut. Then run this straight to battery. Also when I fitted new starter it wouldn't turn from key (I think the ignition couldn't cope with the current) so like gethin has said use jump lead or screwdriver to short across if it turns as mine did put a starter button on. Hope this helps john

yes you can .

best way is with jump leads red to the input of the solenoid and black to the casing then holding the starter under your foot link the igniter terminal to the red jump lead..........
