Autosleeper bed set up? Hello! New member here, myself and Hubs have just picked up an '86 Bedford Autosleeper (BillyBob) today. We have had various VWs in the past but wanted something more family-friendly.Now BillyBob has the double bed over the cab, and a double to be made up of the seating and table area, but it's only about 3ft wide? I see from the brochure that the bed should extend to a full double, but I haven't the foggiest how to do that? Could anyone help? Aldo I have no ladder to climb into the over cab bed, any idea where I could find a replacement? Can't wait to get camping! | Sun 08 Jun 2014 @ 21:19 |

Sorry, seem to have missed your arrival. Welcome to the site, you've made an excellent choice. The bed is usually made up with ply boards that would be kept under the bench seat cushions.Sometimes the table is used in place of a board. You'd probably be better getting a bunk bed ladder or even making your own.By making your own you can make nice wide steps so they don't hurt your feet! If you want to keep it as original as possible you could try Autosleeper for a ladder. ---------------------- | Wed 11 Jun 2014 @ 10:37 |

On my '79 CI Motorhome mk III, there is a sliding section that pulls sideways into the gangway, thus making the bed wider. Grab the end of the seat base and just pull to the centre-line. Mine widens the bed by around 6'' The table then slots in between the 2 seats to create the double-bed base and the original cushions will probably re-arrange to form the mattress As for a replacement ladder, I have my original which is alright, but I plan to eventually replace with half a set of step-ladders, which are the correct height, have wide treads and in any case they will be upholstered with carpet. Well we have stair carpet at home, don't we?? ---------------------- | Wed 19 Nov 2014 @ 17:22 |
