water pump Hi can anybody help,my beddy is a 1983 cf1 facelift 2.3 petrol, have a whiring noise coming from front of engine ,have located it to where fan is ,has play in when pulled up and down would this be water pump problem or is it to do with the fan ,thanks in advance---------------------- | Thu 29 Jan 2015 @ 19:33 |

wish people would get their fact straight before posting there is no difference between the 1.8 and 2.3 water pump at all. there is however 2 types of pumps available that was fitted as standard 1 type has a fixed fan and the other has a viscus fan both can be interchange so long as everything is changed dont make the mistake of fitting a vx490 water pump though as the nose section on these pumps are different and you wont be able to line up the pulleys unless you change every pulley to the vx system | Thu 05 Feb 2015 @ 18:31 |
