The Highlands.

Hi to all,

Hope to get a wee jolly off to the Glenmore Forrest area in the next week or so just to give the Bedford a decent run and give the fish a chance to have a good laugh at me trying to catch them, and get in a bit of walking through the colours of the fall season.

Good luck Doujoy, the weather here on the Island is still really lovely so I hope it stays like that long enough for your jaunt - and ours!

Getting ready.

Hi to all,

Tomorrow I have a few prepping bits to do ready for my trip north like refilling the fresh water tank and checking the tyre pressures, all the other checks and levels have been done.
Had a fifteen miles test drive yesterday and found that new rear shock absorbers have made a difference to the handling, just goes to show shockers don't have to be leaking before they should be replaced.
Bearing in mind that the shock absorbers were most likely as old as the campervan is and the front one's have been changed twice in the past six years, mainly because they were damaged by the pot-holes in our badly maintained roads.

The Highland Jolly.

Hi to all,

It looks like the Highland jolly is all set to go all I need to do is find a campsite that is not too posh to allow in an old Bedford campervan to stop off for a couple of nights.
The one I tried to book online refused my booking once they had got all the details of the campervan, from that reaction I can only think they have some kind of age limit ether of the campervan or the old fart driving it!

Wild camping.

Hi Mike,

My family are softies and want all mod-cons they have never had to rough it like poor old Dad, it now looks like old Dad is on his own as number one son has pulled out at the last minute.

The Highland jolly.

Hi to all,

We just got back today about 13.15pm from our Highland three day jolly, weather was great we had a nice wee break where none of the family could reach us and the old Bedford went just fine over the two hundred and twenty miles we covered.
So well pleased with that, now to plan the next one!
