Fuel filler neck replacement Morning all,I'm working my way backwards replacing every bit of rubber in the fuel system as i've found it's all perishing at the same rate. I've done the pipe linking the filler tube to the tank (1-3/4" pipe or 45mm in modern speak, available on ebay for £10 for a 10cm length), but now found the actual moulded rubber filler neck has cracked around the jubilee clip holding it to the pipe. I've cut and shortened it, but it's cracked all over so won't be long before it goes elsewhere. Has anyone replaced the filler neck with anything other than another old part? There must be something out there that will do the job? I've now got a metre length of 45mm hose as i've had to cut the filler pipe to make up for the lost rubber at the neck end. ---------------------- | Fri 08 Jul 2016 @ 09:57 |

I used some hydraulic rubber pipe of the same dimension (45mm). Must be rigid enough to avoid distortion under pressure. Available from agri engineers or similar. Resistant to petrol or diesel for long enough. Make sure the clamps are top quality, stainless is best. ---------------------- | Mon 25 Jul 2016 @ 14:05 |
