Tow bars.

Hi to all,

Decided to replace the tow bar I took off the Bedford about seven years ago but this time with a light weight one of my own design and manufacture totally made up from scrap steel angle off cuts from other jobs.
I will also have to wire in a towing socket and one that came off will do just fine, the next job will be strengthen the small trailer I bought a few weeks ago and extend it by about a foot so that the Ransome tractor can be transported to the vintage rallies.
Once it has had a lick of paint and I have managed to get it running and bit more predictable.

Tow bar in place.

Hi to all,

The tow bar is fitted but due to the rain the rest of the work will have to wait for a better day, a seven core cable is already in place so it is just a case of connections and a bit of soldering.
Having the use of a small trailer will make quite a difference to collecting or selling of spares at next years rallies.

Hi Doug, does your trailer & tow bar comply with the new regs?I've had a look &,to be honest, can't fathom out what they are in detail. There is a pdf available.I'll let you try & decipher it.

Trailer requirements.

Hi bluebedouin,

My trailer weight and size means that apart from the lights, breakaway cable and tow hitch there are on other requirements, a correctly attached trailer board showing a correct standard rear number plate.
But thank you for your concern and a copy of that EEC GOBELDEGOOK that you have sent me,(no wonder we voted to get out).
