Rewiring/ Hi to all,Setting out to rewire the charging system and the fridge mains and battery supply to it so that it work off the utility battery instead of the main engine one, and in the process I found a lot of very dodge wiring. But now all working and tested, just need to get on the road again now. doujoy |

Just remember when running new cables for power hungry devices to use the heavy gauge cable as the current drop at 12v on long runs can be very high. Also don't use single core cable as the flexing of the vehicle causes strain on the cable and can crack it. I remember seeing a friend of mine rewire his caravan. He ran a cable from the front to back to run his 12v TV. He used thin cable, almost speaker cable. The drop from front to back of the caravan meant the TV would only run for about 10 minutes on a fully charged battery. Once re-wired with nice heavy gauge flexies it would run all night

Volts. Hi Colin,Very carful about cable volts drop tested at each stage of the work and line fused on the high powered stuff like the fridge and heaters. Thank you for the advise pays to listen no matter how much you think you know. doujoy |

Dodgy wiring put right. Hi to all,Wiring all done and tested and split charger working well, a lot of dead wires cut out and made safe one thing about the fire back in August it has made you take a look at the whole lay-out. All I need now is to get the chance to get back on the road, but frist I need an MOT test once the garages reopen. doujoy |

From the government website: "Your car, van or motorcycle’s MOT expiry date will be extended by 6 months if it’s due on or after 30 March 2020 - but you must keep your vehicle safe to drive." ---------------------- |
