It's addictive this Beddy Spotting. Beats eye-spy and the Eddie Stobart game.
Saw a mark 1 coachbuilt camper on the hard shoulder heading (facing?)north on the M5 just past the Taunton exit. The RAC van was just behind it. Hope it was not one of you guys (but own up to it if it was!)

we really must get our flag/ pennant thing downloadable so we can fly it show it so we'll know if it's a member.

if we ALL put it in the same place we'll know where to look for it

and I shall try and get some green / blue window strips with CFUK on
any up for it..

Sorry to go slightly Off Topic but another Owners Club I was in, had a bright coloured shaped sticker which was often but on the windscreen behind the rear view mirror or above the tax disk. If you saw another vehicle of same make you could easily see if they were a fellow member.

Also had a special "Was it you" part of the forums.

So maybe we could have a certain shape and colour and all place it one or two places so we could easily identify each other?

I think you can get these made for about £1 each, if 50 or so where bought at a time. So add on 50p of so for the club. Still very cheap

I would certainly buy two (front and back) if they were only a couple of pound each

Just a thunk :)

Spotted a W reg CF1-facelift coachbuilt at Graham's Truck Stop, North Petherton, Somerset at about 0645 on Friday morning when I went in for breakfast after work. Thought it would be rude to knock so early!

Hate to be a killjoy - but will some jobsworth MOT examiner fail the vehicle on restricted vision?
Not just for this particular idea, but anything that is placed in the windscreen.

so long as its not more than 40mm in the swept area then he cant fail it.
but if if bigger that 10 mm in zone A (which is the width of the steering wheel top to bottom) then its a fail.

bets place for something that size would be the front grill next to the headlight.........................

Spotting beddy owners.

Spotting Beddys is fairly easy but,how about the owners of such.I spotted one in Morrisons car park in Victoria Prom' Northampton today. Not sure whether we're allowed to post reg numbers but its letters were MNX (Remember the two Ronnies sketch?!!!)with a P suffix.
Anyway I thought I would try & see if I could work out who the owners were as I wandered round doing my shopping. No chance! Either they weren't in there (it's pretty close to town with 2 hours parking for a pound, reclaimable in store) or they were just ordinary looking folk who didn't stand out.
Isn't it a prerequisite of a Beddy owner to be at least slightly eccentric & thus appear so?!

If it had 2x3's and a 4 in it (and not in that order) he was a regular at Bedford Gathering.

I spotted a Bedford van converted in camper on Monday Feb 25th 2008. It was on its way towards PRAG (Praha CZ) from VIENNA apparently.
The color was "mustard". Unfortulately I could'nt catch the plate number, I was doing the reverse way and I spoted it between a long line of trucks. I was in my usual car.
(By the way this road to avoid BRNO on the way to Vienna from Prag, is a pain in the neck...)

Was it one of us ?

Photographed this morning as we headed down to Ely on the walk.
Being a Q plate, there's not a lot of infomation about it on the DVLA website other then it was first registered in 1988.
Looking at the wheelbase I'm guessing there's a CF tucked up under the coachbuilt body. It's on doubles at the rear by the way.
Any guesses on the bodybuilder please?

Incidentally, the owner is the gent seated at right of pic - says he has some work to do to get her ready for the dreaded MOT.

He does stop by here occasionally.

Come on in and don't be shy.

Saw a lovely pop top today, a white T reg, think it was probably an auto sleeper the same as mine but looked a lot more cared for - in Ashford (Middx.) also regularly see one the same (maybe the same one) very close to Ashford hospital - gives me inspiration to get on with mine! Damn i wish i had the early shape with the chrome bumpers......
