Obsessed Bedford CF Lover 0)

Hi folks

I though I ought to register as I am on my second Bedford CF...the first I had back in the 90's and was sold on, after a parting of ways with a partner

But now I have our dear Ambulance who we call Ambient who has been with us 3 years and sorry to say we started converting but then I fell pregnant and it got way laid until now and at last we are aiming to get it sorted this year.

Anyway, we came about her after I saw her for sale on Ebay... of course my heart ruled my head and we bought her without even seeing her, and yes some may say oooh bad idea, but actually we were very lucky. Plus I have huge faith in my partner, who knows his stuff when it comes to vehicles.

Born in 1978, she was commissioned by a chemical works who then had her in service up until 2004/2005. We don't reckon she was used very often, which is just as well, as she only had 5000 km on the clock. She was also kept serviced every 6 months. She was then sold to the people who we bought her off, as I think they just bought her to sell on. We even have all her paperwork including her original commission document :)

As I said we are now in the process of converting her. But due to a busy few years, with moving and having a baby, this has been put on hold until now.

This is my third ambulance now (one was a ford transit ambulance and the others Bedford CFS) and I have love each and everyone for their reliability and their built to last aura

Other than that I live In Cumbria with my tribe, and try to live as low impact as we can and even more so in the future, we grow our own veggies and are a household of vegans and veggies, and we also own 8 acres of woodland in Scotland which we use for camping at the moment and hope to eventually build an Eco house up there :) I also run a forum with my partner, and a co-operative of like minded people about nomadic and Eco life styles :)

Anyway, good to know you and hope to get lots of tips along the way :)

Love and light
Xxxx Stormy xxxX

Hi Stormy, welcome to the forum.
I read an interesting eco-statistic the other day. Apparently, producing a typical car uses more energy than it will use in its lifetime. Therefore having a 30 year old classic is actually good for the planet.
There is loads of advice here on pretty much anything CF related. You have stumbled on a treasure trove of knowledge!
