Microwave cooking

I've had an oven [gas] in my camper a 1982 Pioneer . and never used it once in 8 years , when hooked up to mains on a campsite my microwave does all the main food Heating up !
A quick meal is a chinese dish .. CHILLI PRAWN NOODLES...frozen cooked prawns defrosted [or thawed enroute] ready to use noodles , and sweet chilli dipping sauce .....tip all into a large bowl stir together
microwave 4-5 mins a good quick meal delicious and minimal washing up !

We too have a gas oven, and apart from checking it worked when we got the van, we have never used it for cooking. It just gets used as another storage cupboard.

How long does it take to cook a roast, and does the front door get very hot?... we have dogs that would stick their noses on the door, especially if a roast was cooking.:?

Thanks

Roasting Joints

I have roasted all sorts of joint while camping, Chicken,Pork Lamb & Beef, I always use roasting bags a packet cost £1.00 for 10 bags. I find it no different in time same as my gas oven at home, I usually roast a 1.9kg chicken for about two and a half hours as I do at home. The oven door does get very warm but once a dog has sniffed and feels the heat I dont think it would do it again.By the way I only use propane.
