New Member says Hello, and asking for HELP !

Hi Everybody.
Just wanted to say hello. Vehicles in Vision is a West Yorkshire based company that provides vehicles to the film & television industry. We own a 1980 swb CF250 van that is in need of a bit of work as it's been stood for a number of years. Any welsh members who watched a welsh language TV drama called "Emyn Roc a Rol" will remember it as the bands van. It has also made a couple of appearences in Emmerdale some years ago. If anybody has an exhaust manifold for it please contact us, it's got the slant engine in it.
Now for the plea for help. We are about to start filming a 3 part TV drama in the West Yorkshire area set in 1973, 1980, & 1983. If anybody has a CF in the area and would like to see it on screen please get in touch. we particularly need a white van, and anything which could look like a 1970's police van/minibus. Either post a reply here, or send an e:mail to phil@vehiclesinvision.co.uk. If you've never been on a film set before it's quite an interesting day out, and of course you will get paid.

Phil - most of the members here have Bedford CF campers, either in van or coachbuilt form. There are a couple of people who run a straight van but they are mostly customised with modern parts. Finding a good, rust-free example for the 70s and 80s shows will be quite a challenge, I think, so good luck !

The archetypal police van of the 1970s and 1980s was, of course, the Transit - might be worth finding the Owner's Club for those historic versions.. there's bound to be one.

As for your exhaust manifold - there is really only one place to go... Adrian Bailey in Leeds who basically has the monopoly on CF spare parts but, to be fair, is very knowledgeable. He might also be able to help you with locating a van and is in your area.

Tel: 0113 263 4288

Hope this helps.

Hi Magnox (obviousley an alias)
Many thanks for your e:mail. I know the transit was the more popular police van........but I like Bedfords. Also, I posted on the Transit site last week but got no joy.

Thanks for Aidrians telephone number, I dealt with him some years ago but couldn't remember his name until I read your e;mail. It was through him that I bought our CF. 30,000 Mile van in very good condition.

We have a couple of scenes where we could use a camper as long as it isn't in mint condition.

Thanks again for your help,

Regards,

Phil Hamilton
