330 Diesel Injector pump installation

I am in the process of replacing the injector pump on the 330 in my SB3.
There is an anti-rattle device in the drive mechanism that makes the drive cog half a tooth out of mesh when it is in its free state.
This comes right when the pump is mated to the compressor.
My problem is how to get past the miss-match and actually get the two parts mated.
There must be some technique that I am missing.
Has anyone done this assembly ?

Is this the right forum to ask? perhaps there is somewhere else you can recommend me to try.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Thanks Allan, I was unable to get onto that yahoo site for some reason.

However, after sleeping on the problem , I decided to open the pump up (there is a small access plate on the top of it) and jam my finger down there to stop the shaft rotating as I was trying to align the drive gear mechanism. Maybe that's what the access plate is for? Kinda tricky as I needed one hand to hold the pump weight and another to push the pump firmly forward, and maybe not the recommended proceedure, but 'engagement' was successfull at last. (long may it remain together, LOL).

Thanks for your input .
