Awaiting delivery after 25 years!

Hello, fellows,Mike here from Stamford, Lincs. I'm just waiting on the banks (aren't we all, what with current events) so I can go and collect my Bedford Dormobile Land Cruiser, which I'm hoping to return to original spec with a few subtle upgrades.
I've been looking for one of these for about seven years, as I was most impressed by the one my dad took the family of 6 in to Iceland 25 years ago. When we were getting on the ferry, all the 4x4 drivers (and 6x6) watched in wonder as our P reg 2 wheel drive van drove up the ramps "You'll never get round in that", they said, "the roads are terrible". 6 weeks later, we watched smugly as the landrovers and toyotas got towed onto the ship for the return journey.
After all that, 5 miles from home, the nearside front wheel fell off due to bearing failure.
Ive now got two girls of my own and I know they will understand why daddy's bought his dream machine in no time.
Will post piccys as I bring "Moby" back to former glory. Im a D&T teacher, so should cope with most of it,but it wont be long before I'm looking for advice!

Glad to hear that you got there.

Use Photobucket for pic posting - but remember that if you remove the pic from P/b then it also disappears from here!
Any problems then shout out, and there will always be someone to help.
Good luck;]

Did a classic reversing 'ding' on April Fools day and won the crown for village idiot. Bent the rear bumper support on my Landcruiser, which Im hoping I can heat and bash back into shape (not the whole van, obviously). Will be going for a full service this Tuesday- trying out the garage in Wisbeach, Cambs, which I found in the reccommended garages thread. Also need to get the single leaf rear springs sorted as they are horizontal, making the sag somewhat. So, all in all, with the cost of van, tax and insurance, Ill be eating beans for the foreseeable!
At least I have somewhere to live, in an emergency.
I havent found the Photobucket yet, so Ive put a pic in the members CFs area.
Really struggling to find new window rubbers for front doors- anyone know what pattern I should be going for and from who?

Hi Mike
Your `15 seconds of fame eh?

Join Photobucket here - http://photobucket.com
Remember to save your pics as JPG, load them up to your album in P/b, then copy the code to here.

Re: window rubbers - if you post the question in the Questions thread then I'm sure someone will be able to advise you.

Cheers Allan-
Will take some pics today and post them. Will report back to club viz Wisbech garage- certainly seem clued in and friendly on the phone (isnt anyone who wants yer money?) but initial impressions are good.
Going to start hammering out some fill panels today to weld in later- theres a few areas around the bottom of the a posts which have been patched in the past. Tempted to get serious with some stainless steel. Have a feeling that making some glass fibre door skins might pay off in the long run! Perhaps other members might be interested in this possibility? Ill ping it on the m board.
Got all hi tech yesterday and added a tv/dvd/radio unit which Ive had kicking around for a while. Just noticed I can add a reversing camera to it- might have saved me the cost of repairs to the other car in my reversing ding!
