Newbie arriving on the scene

Hi all,
Carl here - just joined although been a CF supporter since the 1970's!
Since I sold my Bedouin WAY back in 1990, I have missed the old girl. Well now I have managed to rectify the situation - and have bought a 1973 example (see avatar).

Looking forward to joining in with the banter as I restore her to her former glory. It helps that the interior is almost 100% original and has not been butchered. The cab, however, will need a complete rebuild!!!! Fun and games......

Looking forward and ever optimistic,
Carl

No - not yukky orange (although I do remember it.....the beddy I had was my father's which was bought new in '73).

This one has currently a deep wine red upholstery, however all the cupboards etc are the original veneer, original wood, original hob/grill, original sink.....and original stretcher bunk (you wont get me in there!!!).

The proper colour for this one is Bahama Gold as evidenced still in the cab.

Strange really - I thought I might put it back to 'yukky orange'...........KIDDING:p

I wonder how many Bedouins are left?????

Hi, Carl- Ive recently joined too with a '73 CF Landcruiser- was tempted to go for the orange stripe, but getting some car wrap done...maybe, once all the bodywork has been done! Looks like you have the beddy cream/ off white. Im sticking with that as the base colour, as the fibre glass back will match nicely!
Do Bedouins have the water tank access between the front seats?
Cheers
Mike

Hi Mike.....nice van the Landcruiser;]

The water tank on the Bedouin is right at the back, under the floor. It is filled via a screw on cap just inside the back door on the side of the 'bed-box' - have to be careful not to overfill otherwise you get a very wet 'beddy'..:#

As for the colour - it is not standard / correct at the moment....it should be Bahama Gold - and this is what it WILL be when I have finished resoring it....

BTW - looking forward to its delivery - still on a farm near Exeter and I have yet to see it in the flesh.

Carl
