Will there be an easter meet as well?

Hi Guys!

Count me in! (and thanks for penciling me in, but you can rub me out and re-write in marker pen, ha!)

Do you know if the site has electric hook up?

Northampshire is it?

Will there be an easter meet? I think our Phil mentioned it.

Char

I have days like that Char. I call them week days! Helps when you can see the CF out the window. It offers promise!

Over the past couple of months I've been in touch with the organiser of the Earls Barton Steam Rally. The reason being it's on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
They don't need any more exhibitors (so we can't get in for free!)so it would be just camping in the showground and attending the rally if you wish. He's still sorting out the details so I can't give a price, unfortunately.Last years entrance fee was £6 with senior citizens £4 & children £3 as a guide.
The question is do you want a quiet weekend at Woodford Halse or a busy (in the sense of something to do)one at Earls Barton?Providing of course that the price is right!
The showground can be seen here. The website can be found here.

Steam rally sounds good to me. Would this be camping on the show ground for 3 nights? Or just the two?. Also would the £6 (approx) per person, be for the whole weekend? Or per night? Thanks Nigel & Nikki…. Oh and where do they stand on dogs? (up to 3 but kept on lead… would be a good answer)

I've removed Char Lotties name from the list as she's now said that she won't be able to make it & has also sold her van.She asked me to pass on a "Howdy Do" to Phil!:D
As we're now about eight weeks away from the event I think the steam rally has got to be a no-go,the guy still hasn't got back to me.Maybe think about it for next year.
I have had a couple of quotes for mini-buses to take us over but I think it'd be too expensive.Cheapest was £160!
Lin & I are going over to Cherry Tree farm for a couple of days next week to do a test run & iron out any possible probs. If anyone has any particular questions I need to ask can you let me know?

Only spent one day at Woodford Halse then decided to take a tour up the east coast.Managed to get things sorted though.
I've drawn up a little map of the site.(click to view)

This is how it looks on the sat pic.(again click to view)

Answers to a couple of general questions I asked,
Dogs allowed on leads.
Facilities are Elsan point with hose for swilling.
Water tap.
Shed with battery charger.
Barbecues are allowed as long as they don't burn the grass.(This probably rules out the disposable ones.)
Marquee is allowed.
Generators allowed but please turn off by 23:00.
The nearest shops are in Woodford Halse, there seems to be quite a variety for a village.Details on arrival but essentials are co-op,post office, chemist & off licence!
One thing I like about cf meets is the informality of the occasion. There are no hard & fast rules, just let common sense & courtesy apply.
However,at past events the standard safety gap between vans of 6 metres(20ft) hasn't been enforced.I've been asked to apply this measure so will be marking pitches out beforehand. Please don't breach this limit,it's for your safety.

Our apologies Graham, we sadly now won't be able to make the event. With the recent "happening" with our van's prop-shaft, which I mentioned to you recently, we're not going to risk trips out, other than local, for a few weeks yet. At least until we're satisfied that after I've repaired it it's not going to bust its gaiter again. Can't afford the £250 quoted to modify it either. Sorry, John and Sue.
