Remove the scotchlock connectors and solder then is stead. Scotchlock connectors are a big problem area and can even cause a fire...... ---------------------- | Sun 11 Apr 2010 @ 22:10 |

Thanks for the advice. I hate scotch locks, but the space available limits what I can use. I think the relay idea is the way forward - am I looking for something like this? All these bypass relays seem a little over spec for what I need, but if they do the job then so be it! ---------------------- | Mon 12 Apr 2010 @ 08:08 |

Last post from me on this blog. The test of the towbar was a journey from Exeter to Liverpool. The biggest hiccup on our journey was discovering our trailer had problems and required a fair bit of welding before being declared roadworthy again. This weekend I towed for 524 miles over about 12 hours at 50-55mph and used 77 litres of fuel in the process. We were a little slow up the hills, but the new towbar is stable and all the electrics work perfectly. ---------------------- | Mon 03 May 2010 @ 20:44 |
