Heading for an MOT.

Hi to all who have failed,

Well I am hoping to get a pass after all the work thats been done, and in some of the coldest weather since records began.
Some things were in danger of snapping off and I don't mean the van,
but we have finally reached the end of the list, (a very long list).
So now I must pray to the VOSA god, and hope that the tester is not a picky sod.

Doug.

All the best with the MOT, mine is booked in for Thursday. I know what you mean about the uncertainty of passing. I have a list of little jobs to do, which I’m sure that they will frown at, but hopefully won’t produce a failure.

Praying for nice MOT man or woman.

Hi,

Thanks for that lads, if you don't hear you may read about a campervan drifting out from the mouth of the river tay, as a hazard to shipping.

Doug.

Mine FAILED…. Number plates de-laminated, headlight alignment and needs a small welded patch near the rear suspension. Hopefully will be sorted and re-tested by the weekend.

Can't be having anything obscuring the speed camera photos of your number plate...

It's not a matter of us being picky, all we are doing is testing the vehicle as per the VOSA guidelines/regulations.. I do know what you mean though, as I used to be on the receiving end !!
If you actually look into it, the standard that vehicles have to meet to pass an MOT is alot less than any kind of service standard
If you ever have any questions about an MOT just give me a shout and i'll do my best to help :)
cheers

While it is nice to sail through the MOT, I’m not too upset with the discoveries. The welding is a safety issue, and once under sealed should stop the rot for a bit longer. And the wife says that the number plate is a fashion issue…. that the MOT man thinks the van is too scruffy to be on the road, and would look a lot smarter with a nice shiny new number plate.

You know the sadest thing of all.

Hi sgain you guy's,

The sadest part of all this is I was an MOT tester before I retired eighteen months ago for a Renault garage here in Perth.
And the guy that will be testing my old van was a paint sprayer to trade for thirty years, and was my best man at my wedding in 1965.
But I still think he will enjoy printing out that failure, isn't life a funny affair then.

Doug.

Well well, it's Mr.D.S.Joyce

So the truth is out, it is your choice

I was an MOT tester, he cried

A lovely man, from the OTHER side...:D
