recommendations for campsite near Walsall

We are planning a trip to the GAP show (Greyhound rescue) in Walsall just off the M6, for the May bank holiday. I just wondered if any Bedford members had any experience of campsites near Walsall?

I have read horror stories about bedfords being turned away for not being posh enough, and our campervan is not in the pristine condition that it once was back in the early 80s. So we are looking for a friendly site that accepts dogs and scruffy beddies ;-)

Any recommendations or places to avoid would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Nigel & Nikki

I live in Bridgnorth, there are a few very small campsites near the town. Its about a 40 minute drive to walsall from here.

I'm not joking, its that field with the sheep in. Bear in mind the photo was taken around early march last year, There are often tents and vans on there during the summer months. I dont know the number but I can pop into the house opposite and ask them next time I'm passing if you like. I googled it and it came up as the Halfwayhouse inn which is next door and not the sheep field, they charge £20 a night!

Then there's here. High trees farm, Tasley.

Bridgnorth is a nice place to visit anyway if you want a weekend away.

Thanks suterman, I’ll pass these on to the wife. She is still looking and weighing up the options. Will let you all know where she decides to take us.

Nigel.

The van is not complete enough for the trip, so we will just go to the gap dog show for the day, by car. A few more weekends work and then we will be ready for a trip away in the bedford….
