my cf250

well i think im due to post something on this page as i have been slowly tackling the job list on my beddy.
when my son 1st saw her , he was quite excited but upon looking inside he said
" i'm not sleeping on the top bed "
well i suppose it was a bit minging, paper hanging off, the rest of the inside was painted bright yellow ( i think whoever painted it must have used a mop ! )
so heres how she looks now

welding started !!

well i finally nailed the guy down to do the welding on the n/s wheel arch, which i thought shouldnt take long !!

so thats the arch done

but while is was there i pulled the carpet back and saw a couple of bits which needed plating so these were done as well

so thought i best check the same area over the over side ........:o
more work, a plate had to be added to the step and a bit more above it

worse still i found more inside the wheel arches which heed doing as well, i will try to take some more 'before' pictures as well

been a bit delayed as the welding needed was growing by the day !
I managed to get a couple of outriggers fabricated by the guy winchman recommended jim,
http://www.classiccarwebsite.com/home/a0_C/a0_CL/i172_Classic_Car_Sills
i gave him the size of the existing and asked him to make a pair up that just slot over the top ( so if they dont fit its down to me ! ) £30 the pair , which i was chuffed with.
while i was there i also picked up a repair section for the bottom of the bonnet for £10.
he has a few repair sections in stock for various bedfords etc, but said he can make up anything given the measurements, nice guy who isnt out to rip you off.
i will take some before and after pics tomorrow

Make sure that you have a continuous weld not tack welding as you have in some of your photos as they wont pass the MOT

decided to cut away the existing outrigger as it was just a rusted previous repair, this was what was left....

this is the repair section welded and undersealed, which i am sure will open a debate about mot welding specs, but as my friend works as a mot inspector , who is quite strict, said to me " if a mot station fails a vehicle on welding, then when its re inspected they want to see the welded section so as to check the welds, but if it comes in with solid metal covered in underseal , or in the case of modern cars, plastic trays covering everything, they are not allowed to remove anything to see whats underneath, if it is accesable they can only tap it with a hammer"

when you say "materials for jobs inside ? "
did you mean the wallpaper/paint etc ?
if so it was just embossed vinyl wallpaper and normal household paint. exposed bare metal on the floor was just harmerite.
just need a few good weather days.....
