Sick 6cyl Bedford 330 Marine Diesel

Hi, I have a Bedford 330 in my boat whish which seems to have excessive pleasure in the block it is blowing what I believe to be atomised oil from the breather pipe and the rocker cover.
Can anybody give me any clues as to the cause of this any help it would be extremely appreciated.
Regards
Phil.

I hope you mean pressure not pleasure in the block LOL

Excessive pressure could be either a blocked breather, is there more than 1 pipe coming from the block? or piston rings starting to go.

Is the oil comming out of any where else like the dipstick ?

If its not to bad you can always fit a catch tank onto the breather pipe and keep an eye on it, when its half full just empty it back into engine.

Is the engine using a lot of oil as well as blowing it out ?

Generally it is 'blow by' from engine wear. They can live for years like this.

If the crankcase pressure seems to be really excessive then it might be worth removing the tappet side cover & looking for bubbles along the head gasket line in the oil returning to the sump when the engine is running. Bubbles (or worse, like obvious spitting as cylinders fire) indicate a blowing head gasket.
