CF FF 4X4 Conversion Hello all...new to the site and recently proud new owner of a CF2 FF 4x4, with the 2.0 Petrol engine. Absolutely love the vehicle which is done up as a camper van....the only problem being is that it is very underpowered, and the losses through the viscous coupling means that mpg is poor (and it's very noisy). I am toying with the idea of a conversion to a newer, larger Diesel engine, preferably with 2WD/4WD switchable functionality. I was just wondering if anyone had ever done anything similar and if there was any case studies of other engine/running gear combinations that would or could be made to fit easily without too much bodywork etc.....any help gratefully recieved.Cheers ---------------------- | Tue 28 May 2013 @ 15:37 |

there is nothing that will fit directly in place of your engine/gearbox set up. but with a bit of hard work you could fit a disco/range rover lump in place.. most prefer to remove the 4x4 system all together and fit a replacement front axle and gearbox and run as a 2wheeled drive unit. this will make a slight benefit to the fuel consumption. | Tue 28 May 2013 @ 22:55 |
