Loose gear lever. 'Lo chaps.I've noticed that my gear lever moves back and forth quite a bit when in gear. It's not loose in any other way, ok side to side, and I can't lift it straight up. Is there some kind of lock ring at the base of the stick, or is it likely to be internally worn? Cheers. ---------------------- |

Thanks for the diagrams. Not sure which 'box I have, it's a 2.3 petrol engine in a '79 'van. The gearstick isn't rattling, it just has lots of fore and aft movement in gear. Not at the bungee stage yet! ![]() |
