Raw speed!!!! My camper has an 1800 engine and 3 speed auto box. What sort of speed should it be capable of cruising at? My guess is 45-50? It's totally stripped at the mo and I plan to reinstall the interior and other elements with quite a weight reduction, hopefully I can reduce the weight by 1/4-1/2 a ton from the original camper. Thanks, Nick |

depending or rear axle ratio you should be able to cruse at about 55 -60 depending if your ears can take the noise.. |

I'd be glad to get 55-60 out of it, I'm putting bigger Wellers on it too and it's a panel van conversion not a coach built. I plan to put new seals around the engine cover and carpet the cab area too, so hoping I can bring the noise down slightly. |

Also, if I was to swap it out for a 2.3 with my same auto gear box, what sort of speed should it be capable of? |

putting bigger wheels on it will make it slower to accelerate and top end will be only slightly better if you could achieve it as bigger wheels need more power to turn them, fitting a 2.3 will make driving easier as long as you fit the HP version not the LP 1, |

I have a 1972 1800 manual panel conversion (dormobile freeway). She sits at 70mph on the motorways and drops down to 60 up hill. I have larger rear tyres on and a home made exhaust, other than that she's standard. Steve |
