Air assist suspension pressures? Hello everyone, I'm new here so please be gentle.I have just bought a 1980 CF250 Adventura camper in great condition. It has air assist rear suspension which is currently set at about 25psi. The trouble is that at this setting the back end does a lot of bouncing. I can fiddle till I find a good setting but wondered if anyone here had experience and could short cut the trial and error process? Also, what kind of fuel consumption can I look forward to? she has the 2.3 petrol engine. Thanks in anticipation. Mike |

Found this info in a forum post elsewhere. 30 psi light load (weekending) 40 to 50 psi med load a(a week away) 50 to 60 max load (2 /3 weeks away) 80 psi when running over loaded ---------------------- |

Mike, petrol consumption is not some thing to look forward to!!!. Two gallons may get you round the `course` but try free-wheeling from Kates Cottage to Cronk-ny-mona to be sure. 20mpg on a good day.

Thanks for those replies, I have reduced the pressure from 37 to 24 and the ride is much improved, it hasn't affected how it sits on the road ie the back end has'nt settled down noticably so I will see how that goes for a day or two. Bluebeduin those pressures seem pretty high but thank you for the information, I shall continue to experiment. My guess is that the shocks are knackered if there are any, I will have a look underneath this evening. I was prepared for her being pretty thirsty but she will not be used every day so I guess I can afford to put a few extra gallons in. @Bob Hillier, not too sure it would be wise to even attempt the mountain lol The van is allegedly two owners from new and seems very original and in really good condition, its just turned 39000 miles and even came with the most amazing 80's eye burning table cloth! I am certainly enjoying getting to know her and anticipating weekends away through the summer :) Thanks everyone. Mike |

shocks Hi mike,if you do replace the rear shocks try to get gas shocks as these can come with a lifetime guarantee (if your lucky).I find I get a better ride with them.Cheer,Jim---------------------- |

Life time garantee You should quantify this with the dealer before purchaceing the item.The ones I have are my vans life with me.Cheers Jim.---------------------- |
